Abstract
Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma that occurs almost exclusively in adolescent male is the most commom benign neoplasms of the nasopharynx, yet this neoplasm accounts for less than 0.05% of head and neck tumors. This is a histologically benign vascular tumor, but considered clinically as malignancy because of its propensity for locally destructive growth, fatal hemorrhage and high recurrence. The treatment proposed for this tumor are different: hormonal therapy, embolization, radiotherapy or surgery. In general, surgical resection is treatment of choice. The surgical approach is dependent on tumor location, extension and other factors. The authors had experienced a case of juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (Session¡¯s stage IIc) in 14-year old male that was resected by unilateral facial degloving approach and medial maxillectomy after superselective embolization. We report this case with review literatures.
